Faraón Llorens
Santander-UA Chair for Digital Transformation at the University of Alicante

He holds a doctorate in Information Technology and Diploma in Secondary (EGB) Education. He was the Director of the Escola Politècnica Superior (2000-2005) and Deputy Rector of Technology and Educational Innovation (2005-2012) at the University of Alicante and Executive Secretary of the ICT Sectorial Commission at the Conference of Spanish University Rectors (2010-2012). He is a university college professor of Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence. He is the director of the Santander-UA Chair for Digital Transformation. Coordinator of the annual “UNIVERSITIC: Las TIC en el Sistema Universitario Español” report. In 2008, he received the “Sapiens al Profesional” award from the Official Association of Computer Engineers of Valencia (COIICV) and in 2013 received the “Calidad e Innovación Docente” award from the Association of University Teachers of Information Technology (AENUI). He is the president of AENUI, a member of the General Council of the SCIE (Spanish Science and IT Society) and a Founding Collegiate of COIICV. He is a member of AEPIA (Spanish Association for Artificial Intelligence) and SECiVi (Spanish Society for Videogame Sciences). He is the co-leader of the GTI4U (Governance of Information Technology at Universities) team. His work is in the fields of artificial intelligence, videogame development, the application of digital technologies to education and IT governance. Lluís Pastor
Lluís Pastor is a Doctor of Journalism from Ramón Llull University (URL), has a Master’s in Information Science from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) and a certificate of Business Administration from the IESE, University of Navarra.
He is the Director of the eLearn Center for research and innovation at the Open University of Catalonia (UOC).
Prior to that he held a number of managerial positions at the UOC as Director of Information and Communication Studies, CEO of Oberta UOC Publishing and CEO of the Editorial UOC publishing company.
M. Carme Verdaguer
M. Carme Verdaguer is the director of the Bosch i Gimpera Foundation, Knowledge Transfer, Technology and Innovation Centre at the University of Barcelona (UB).
M. Carme Verdaguer graduated as a chemical engineer from the Sarrià Institute of Chemistry (Ramon Llull University) and has an MBA in Company Management and Administration from the University of California in Los Angeles (UCLA). She has professional research experience in the fields of biochemistry, knowledge transfer, company start-ups, university-business partnerships and university management.

Ferran Badia Pascual
Ferran Badia Pascual, doctor of physics (born 1963).
Doctor of physical sciences from the University of Barcelona (UB) (1991).
He was a physics lecturer at the Higher Polytechnic School, University of Lleida since 1998. Previously, lectured at the Physics Faculties of the Universities of Barcelona and Vic.
He has done research in the fields of the science and technology of materials and currently in the field of clean energies.
In the field of education, he has participated in a number of research projects, especially in the field of end of degree projects and dual training in the university sphere.
He is the head of the dual education development project at the University of Lleida. Director and coordinator of the report titled Promoció i Desenvolupament de la Formació dual en el Sistema Universitari Català, published by the Association of Catalan Public Universities.
Director of the Higher Polytechnic School, University of Lleida from October 2005 to May 2011.
President of the Science Advisory Board to Lleida City Council from 2009 to 2015.
Currently deputy rector of planning, innovation and business at the University of Lleida.
Ismael Peña-López

Doctor of the Information and Knowledge Society, Degree in Economic and Business Science (Economics), Master’s in Eco-Audits and Environmental Business Planning and Postgraduate in Knowledge Management.
He previously lectured at the Open University of Catalonia on Law and Political Sciences, was a senior researcher at Open Evidence and a fellow director of open research at the Jaume Bofill Foundation. He was a founder member and later director of the UOC Development Cooperation Programme, where he mainly worked in the fields of e-learning for development and online volunteering. He is the editor of ICTlogy (ISSN 1886-5208).
He has specialised in the impact of Information and Communication Technologies on Development. Specifically, his interests are focused on measuring the evolution of digital economies and the personal adoption of the digital realm (e-readiness, digital divide), and the impact of ICTs on Development and its main institutions, especially in the field of ICTs and education and ICTs and democracy. He has worked in these areas in 25 countries in collaboration with the PNUD, IDRC-CRDI, Ericsson, the Spanish Senate and Government, the Parliament and Government of Catalonia, Barcelona and Lleida Regional Councils, various local councils, the Jaume Bofill Foundation, the Esplai Foundation, Aigües de Barcelona, Ferrovial and different political parties, public organisations and NGOs.
Mònica Figueras-Maz
Mònica Figueras-Maz is a Doctor of Journalism and has degrees in Information Science and Sociology from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. Since 1998, she has been a lecturer in the Department of Communication at Pompeu Fabra University (UPF) where she teaches different subjects, such as journalistic ethics, consumer psycho-sociology and research methodologies. Her lines of research include young people and communication, media education and journalistic deontology, and she has a special interest in the gender perspective. Since 2013, she has been Deputy Rector of the UPF, Head of Social Responsibility and currently of Social Commitment and Equality, and her achievements include the mainstreaming of this commitment to teaching, research and transfer and the ties between universities and the territory.
Josep M. Vilalta Verdú
Josep M. Vilalta Verdú (Barcelona, 1965). Since 2007 he is Executive Secretary of the Catalan Association of Public Universities (ACUP). He is also Director of the Global University Network for Innovation (GUNi), composed by the UNESCO and the ACUP, where the permanent Secretariat relies. He holds a degree in History and Geography (Universitat de Barcelona), a Master in Public Management (Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona), a Master in Political and Social Theory (Universitat Pompeu Fabra) and a postgraduate degree in Higher Education Management (Open University at Universiteit Twente).
Before he held the following positions and responsibilities: Deputy Director General for Research of the Generalitat de Catalunya, Head of the Evaluation, Studies and University Cooperation of the Generalitat de Catalunya, Head of the Strategic Planification Unit of the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, Coordinator of the UNESCO Chair for University Management, Deputy Director of Management of the Laboratori d’Enginyeria Marítima (Ocean Engineering Laboratory) (UPC) and Executive Secretary of the International Centre for Coast Resources. He has lectured in the fields of public management, public policy and university and research management in different universities and centres. He also promoted and coordinated a Master in University Management and Policies.
He has written more than sixty publications (books, chapters of books, articles and reports) in the following areas: university leadership, management and public policies, organisation, management and university funding, university policies and governance, research management and policy, knowledge management and innovation. Recently, he has been the Director of the Annual directory of the Fundació Jaume Bofill “Reptes de l’educació a Catalunya” and “Una agenda per transformar l’educació a Catalunya”.
