Peter Mathieson
Professor Peter Mathieson MBBS(Hons)(London), PhD (Cambridge), FRCP(London), FMedSci assumed the office of Principal and Vice-Chancellor of the University of Edinburgh in February 2018. He was formerly the 15th President and Vice-Chancellor of the University of Hong Kong.
Previous posts include: foundation Professor of Renal Medicine at the University of Bristol, Honorary Consultant Nephrologist, North Bristol NHS Trust, Head of the University Department of Clinical Science at North Bristol, Director of Research & Development for the North Bristol NHS Trust, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry at the University of Bristol.
Linda Castañeda
Linda Castañeda is Educationalist and PhD in Educational Technology. She is an Associated Professor (tenured) in Educational Technology at The Faculty of Education at the University of Murcia. From her strong background as educationalist, her field of specialization is the study of the impact of technology in education, both in formal, non-formal and informal contexts. Dr. Castañeda has been visiting researcher in some universities (OU-UK, Oxford University, UJI, MSU, UCBerkeley, Universidad de Cuyo, among others). She has participated in a wide variety of international events as speaker, and she takes an active role in a wide variety of national and international Professional Educational Networks. Linda’s current research portfolio includes the study of critical perspectives of educational technology, competencies for the digital world, merging pedagogies and Personal Learning Environments (PLE) as a framework for life-long learning, on which she has published some recent articles.

Josep Joan Moreso
Josep Joan Moreso is a full professor of Legal Philosophy at Pompeu Fabra University (UPF). He holds a bachelor’s degree in Law (1983) and a PhD in Law, from the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB). He has also been a lecturer at UAB and at the University of Girona (UdG), and honorary guest lecturer at Diego Portales University, Santiago de Chile.
He has mainly worked on theory of law and foundations of the Constitution. He has published a dozen books and two hundred articles and papers with different publishing houses and national and international Law journals. He is a contributor to the Filosofía y Derecho collection (Philosophy and Law), Marcial Pons publishing company, and of Ratio Juris and Doxa journals.
Josep M. Vilalta Verdú
Since 2007 he is Executive Secretary of the Catalan Association of Public Universities (ACUP). He is also Director of the Global University Network for Innovation (GUNi), composed by the UNESCO and the ACUP, where the permanent Secretariat relies. He holds a degree in History and Geography (Universitat de Barcelona), a Master in Public Management (Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona), a Master in Political and Social Theory (Universitat Pompeu Fabra) and a postgraduate degree in Higher Education Management (Open University at Universiteit Twente).
Before he held the following positions and responsibilities: Deputy Director General for Research of the Generalitat de Catalunya, Head of the Evaluation, Studies and University Cooperation of the Generalitat de Catalunya, Head of the Strategic Planification Unit of the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, Coordinator of the UNESCO Chair for University Management, Deputy Director of Management of the Laboratori d’Enginyeria Marítima (Ocean Engineering Laboratory) (UPC) and Executive Secretary of the International Centre for Coast Resources. He has lectured in the fields of public management, public policy and university and research management in different universities and centres. He also promoted and coordinated a Master in University Management and Policies.
He has written more than sixty publications (books, chapters of books, articles and reports) in the following areas: university leadership, management and public policies, organisation, management and university funding, university policies and governance, research management and policy, knowledge management and innovation. Recently, he has been the Director of the Annual directory of the Fundació Jaume Bofill “Reptes de l’educació a Catalunya” and “Una agenda per transformar l’educació a Catalunya”.
