APRENDIZAJES COLATERALES. Más allá de las competencias.

Competence based learning; one of the keystones of the European Higher Education Area (EHEA), established an inflexion point regarding education. Although this system is not totally new, it served to transform the information society towards the knowledge society: from knowing towards knowing how. Nevertheless, this is not the end of the road.


This proposal analyses the limits and boundaries of the competence based learning within the VERIFICA reports in the new degrees of Spain. In our case, the research was conducted in the degree of Social Education of the University of Castilla-La Mancha.


In this context, we have identified a unplanned learning which we have coined as “collateral learning”
