Social Media Usage in Higher Education Learning

Malgorzata Bartosik-Purgat, Nela Filimon

Resum

We identify behavioral patterns of SM usage for educational purposes of students from Poland, Spain and China. The LC model suggests three clusters: a group of heavy SM users (70.72%), one of users connected to SM all the time (25.18%),  and a group of occasional users (4.10%). Cultural differences (nationality), demographic variables and the educational motives for SM usage complete the profile of the clusters with women, on average, more intensive users of SM for education purposes than men.
