Sharing responsibilities in learning assessment: the implementation of self and co-evaluations

This paper reports a case study into a criteria-based learning assessment being implemented within a management course of an engineering degree in a Spanish university. It outlines and analyses the three different tasks involved in assessing the learning outcomes: the role of the professor and the engagement of students in their self and co-evaluation tasks. The paper concludes that sharing responsibilities in engaging students into their learning assessment benefits the learning process.
