History
In July 2000 Institutes of Educational Sciences (IESs) at the Universitat de Barcelona, Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona and Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya organized the First International Conference of University Teaching and Innovation (CIDUI). The organizers were aware of living quick changes forced to attend, much more, continuous variability of things, that its stability and continuity. The new realities requested new self-learning professionals to confront/face new situations and coordinate and manage teams.
The cooperation between these three IESs multiplied their effectiveness and their impact on the real lives of those universities. Thus, it was expressed graphically with the formula “CIDUI-IEC 3”, with which it was convened, in 2001, the First International Symposium dedicated to reflect on models of initial training of university teachers in Europe. The way of organizing a biannual conference and a symposium between became ingrained.
Gradually they were added to CIDUI other Catalan public universities. Currently, part Institutes of Educational Sciences of the University of Barcelona, the Polytechnic University of Catalonia, the Universitat Rovira i Virgili, the Universitat de Girona and the University of Lleida, the Unit of Teaching Innovation in Higher Education at the University Autònoma de Barcelona, the Center for Teaching Quality and Innovation at Pompeu Fabra and the eLearn Center of the UOC.
